I'm the political reporter at The Roanoke Times in Virginia, covering the General Assembly and the politics of the Appalachian region of Western Virginia.
I'm a recovering criminal justice reporter, spending several years writing about crime, policing and other public safety agencies in Western Virginia. I'm driven by untold stories found in the nooks and crannies of communities. I've told the intimate stories of people affected by gun violence and the opioid epidemic. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where I spent much of my time working for The Pitt News, the student-run, daily newspaper. I worked as a business reporter in Pennsylvania, covering the gambling and natural gas industries. I have had bylines in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Columbus Dispatch, The Reading Eagle and The Altoona Mirror. Trying to reach me?
